The final ranking event takes place in Knocknaheeny, Cork City on Sunday 09 March 2025. The usual Junior and Para categories will take place in the morning while the afternoon will have an American Doubles format for all age categories instead of the usual Senior and Veterans ranking format – no ranking points will apply for the American Doubles.

American Doubles Format & Rules

Players are divided into Green and Red divisions according to ability
At the start of each round, pairs are chosen at random. In some rounds all players will be from the same division, in others, from different divisions.

A single game of doubles is played to a total of 31 points (e.g. 18-13, 10-21). Change serve every 2 points and change ends and service order after 15 points. You do not need to win by two points i.e. Game ends when 31 points have been played.

Players enter scores into their score cards e.g. “18” for the winners and “13” for the losers. Return cards to Top Table: if you do not return the card you can not play in future rounds.

Scores are updated after each round and new pairings are drawn for each round.

Winners of each division are players with highest average scores in their games
