Munster Branch launch its second series of WIS sessions
In cooperation with Cork Sports Partnership, on 3 February at the Leeside TT Club venue. 12 Participants have signed up for 6 weeks on Thursday evenings between 6.30 and 7,30 pm. Ying Yi Graham, WIS Lead for TTI, is scheduled to visit this group on 17 February next and to take the session in conjunction with local coaches from Beech Hill and Leeside clubs – Philip Shaw and Ben Haughton. Munster Branch continues to forge ahead in reaching out to women to come into club table tennis though social table tennis sessions.
Sporty women try table tennis and succeed!
First time women players were encouraged to try table tennis in association with Munster Table Tennis and Cork Sports Partnership. 10 women attended a 10 week course lead by Margie and aided by Philip and Eoin. The standard of play improved rapidly as these women, although new to tabletennis, were not new to sport, with some having backgrounds in tennis and basketball. Some of the women also brought their children who enjoyed playing as well. The course ended with a tournament on the last day. Medal winners are pictured below.
Table Tennis- Where Men are Men and Women are Women ( not “Ladies”!)
The Munster branch proposal for Table Tennis Ireland to change the name of the Women’s competition from ” Ladies ” to ” Women’s ” whilst Men’s can continue to be called ” Men’s ” has been received positively by TTI Management Committee.

Munster Player Wins 3 National Titles!

of Leeside Table Tennis Club took three National Titles at the Irish National Championships held in Lisburn Racquet Club on the 1st-3rd of March 2019
Silke won the Irish National Championship Singles U/15, the Junior Doubles and the Cadet Doubles with her partner Pervesha Ragi from Loop

Jing Yi who attained the World ranking of Top 64 Senior Woman Player coached some very lucky players this December during
“Mister Bring a Sister” Week.
