Sporty women try table tennis and succeed!

First time women players were encouraged to try table tennis in association with Munster Table Tennis and Cork Sports Partnership. 10 women attended a 10 week course lead by Margie and aided by Philip and Eoin. The standard of play improved rapidly as these women, although new to tabletennis, were not new to sport, with some having backgrounds in tennis and basketball. Some of the women also brought their children who enjoyed playing as well. The course ended with a tournament on the last day. Medal winners are pictured below.

Table Tennis- Where Men are Men and Women are Women ( not “Ladies”!)

The Munster branch proposal for Table Tennis Ireland to change the name of the Women’s competition from ” Ladies ” to  ” Women’s ” whilst Men’s can continue to be called ” Men’s ” has been received positively by TTI Management Committee.
