Testimonials – Sad losses in the table tennis community

Ian Brown passed away after a long and brave battle with illness on 16th of January 2021. He represented both Ballincollig & Leeside table tennis clubs, and his province, Munster, at both Junior and Senior level with great distinction. We wish to extend our deepest sympathies to his parents, Carol and Roy, and his siblings, Chloe and Niall, and his wide circle of friends.

Adam Buckley passed away after a short illness, which he fought bravely with courage and dignity, on 27th of January2021. He represented his club Ballincollig TTC and Munster at U13 & U15 levels. We wish to extend our deepest sympathies to his parents, Jacqui and Mark, and his sister Becky, and his extended family and friends.

Jim Sheehan passed away on Tuesday 9th of February 2021. He represented Ireland at international level, played at Irish Veteran Table Tennis Society tournaments, and was a popular coach at the table tennis club of Waterford Institute of Technology. We wish to extend our deepest sympathies to his wife Ellen, his daughters Miriam and Gillian, his extended family and friends.

Doubles European Quarter Finalists at Malmo Paralympics in Sweden this Weekend!

Matthew Collins & Aaron Mellows played Doubles against the best in Europe this afternoon across all para Classes in Malmo’s European Para Championships. Winning 2 close games in their group, went on to qualify through to the Quarter Finals, only to lose against the Top seeds in the whole event, and eventual winners. So first day out, European Quarter Finalists and joint 5th place in Europe, not bad start at all. So proud!
